BATEMANS BAY & SURROUNDS

Well after a fairly busy few months, I figured it was time to visit blog land and apologise for the lack of posts. In everyone's life a little rain must fall and after back to back monsoonal rains, Dana and I have finally managed a few days away.

On the 7th of June 2012 my wife and adventure soul mate was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As active and healthy people, the news came as a shock and took quite a bit of mental fortitude to accept. The concept of not achieving the things in life you dream about is all the more difficult when the decision is made for you without being consulted.

The initial shock and soul searching eventually gave way to clear thinking and reason, which has us more determined than ever to keep on chasing our dreams. The reality of living with MS can be frustrating, but is by no means a ball and chain if you are willing to accept some basic day to day changes.

A good friend reminded me recently, "All we have in life is Nature and other people, the rest is bullshit", and so armed with these words we will continue searching for adventure.

Whatever you do.....don't wait....and more importantly don't make excuses.
